- Where to Go
Cape Town is the seat of the Parliament of South Africa, also the legislative capital of the country. It is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, the home to the majestic Table Mountain and Robben Island, the notorious prison that once held Nelson Mandela, which is now a living museum. In 2014, Cape Town was named the best place in the world to visit by both the American New York Times and the British Daily Telegraph. It is one of the most multicultural cities in the world.
Cape Town shopping options entice you to browse endlessly in elegant malls such as the Victoria Wharf at the V&A Waterfront, antique shops, craft markets, flea markets and art galleries abound.
About 40 km to the east of Cape Town, you will find a series of generous valleys known as the Cape Winelands. Here there is a collection of historic towns, little hamlets and Cape Dutch farmsteads that provide well-regarded South African wines to the world.
