North of Rustenburg in North West Province in South Africa, deep in the rugged bushveld, in the heart of an ancient volcano, lies the world's most inimitable resort, the internationally acclaimed Sun City. The Resort has a unique heartbeat and an African rhythm of its own and cannot be compared to any other Resort destination in the world. This is uncontaminated fantasy and your every desire is met. The Sun City is a resort which has astounded the international community with its glamorous casinos, gourmet restaurants, extensive sports facilities and star-studded spectaculars.
The Resort offers a full variety of entertainment from slots to safaris, the theatre extravaganza to a games arcade for children, horse riding to golf, and the Valley of Waves to The Lost City. Now the Palace of The Lost City is a fantasy world of Africa 's jungles, cliff-tumbling gardens, streams, waterfalls, swimming pools, and al fresco entertainment areas.
In the Northern border of the entertainment complex Sun City you will find The Pilanesberg Game Reserve. The Pilanesberg National Park, which covers some 55 000 hectare, is the fourth largest in southern Africa. Pilanesberg is named after a Tshwana chief, Pilane. The 'Pilanesberg Alkaline Ring Complex' is the park's primary geological feature, however a number of rare minerals occur in the park. Scattered throughout the park are various sites that originate from the Iron Age and Stone Age and show the presence of man from those periods in these areas. Towards the centre of the park there is an artificially constructed lake, the Mankwe Dam, and Thabayadiotso, which means "the Proud Mountain".
