Blyde River Canyon

The Blyde River Canyon is a significant natural feature of South Africa, located in Mpumalanga province, and forming the northern part of the Drakensberg escarpment. It is without a doubt one of the largest canyons on Earth, and it may be the largest 'green canyon' due to its lush subtropical foliage.

Your Travel2Africa tour experience to The Blyde River Canyon will see you enjoy the rich and varied plant life, and refreshingly beautiful waterfalls.

The fresh mountain scenery and panoramic views over the Klein Drakensberg escarpment are quite spectacular and give the area its name of 'Panorama Route'. Viewpoints are named for the spectacle they offer, and God's Window and Wonder View hint at the magnitude of the scenery.
