Mandela Yard

Alexandra, a vibrant, energetic and dynamic township in Johannesburg where Nelson Mandela rented a room. These houses were originally set apart for soldiers returning from the wars.

Lilies farm

Located in Rivonia, North of Johannesburg, the farm house was utilized as a safe house for ANC activists in the 1960’s. This farmhouse has since been used as a museum and heritage site since the end of apartheid but has maintained its earlier ambience to portray the dramatic events leading up to the police raid.

Houghton House

We take a quick drive past Nelson Mandela’s house in Houghton then proceed to the Constitutional Hill

Constitutional Hill

The precinct is the one site of incarceration institutions that has imprisoned renowned history makers including Nelson Mandela, Mahatma Gandhi, Joe Slovo, Albertina Sisulu, Winnie Madikizela-Mandela and many more. It is now a living museum that narrates the story of South Africa’s journey to freedom.
