WALKING ACTIVE HOLIDAYS

A walking holiday in Africa allows you to savour the beauty and spirit of the continent.

Some areas in Africa are well known for its abundance of wildlife and breath-taking panoramic views and offers you the perfect walking destinations in the world.

Explore the scenic beauty of the Drakensburg Mountains and Lesotho on guided walks, surrounded by diverse flora & fauna, and sleep under the stars in renowned Sleep Out camps.

Extend your walking holiday in Africa with the ultimate experience in exploring Africa’s untamed wilderness by foot. Walking safaris in Africa are not only an exhilarating way of discovering the bushveld, but also a highly educational one.

Take a detour to the Blyde River Canyon, the world’s 3rd largest canyon and also the greenest, and walk down the canyon while enjoying spectacular views.

Complete your holiday walking in a little slice of wilderness that encompasses a wetland, and coastal and dune forest, as well as serving as a refuge for a great many birds, animals and plants along the coast of the Indian ocean.

 TRAVEL TIPS

  • Take some entertainment for down time in safari camps – smartphone games, iPad apps, books, colouring stuff, playing cards, etc.
  • Pack a small rucksack for each child to use as a day pack, great for taking in vehicles or planes.
  • Be adventurous, children are more robust than you think and families often really enjoy simple fly camping and walking.
  • Don’t rush – we advise at least three nights per safari camp – and don’t try to do too much on one family holiday.
